When it comes to modern supercar styling, few vehicles command the road quite like the 2016 Mercedes-AMG GT S. With its elongated hood, muscular rear end, and a thunderous 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine pumping out 503 horsepower, the AMG GT S is a masterclass in grand touring performance.

Recently, we had the pleasure of transforming this stunning, custom-wrapped 2016 Mercedes-AMG GT S by fitting a set of our flow formed Riviera RF5 alloy wheels finished in Gloss Black. The result? A breathtaking transformation that looks incredibly aggressive while respecting the car’s high-performance engineering.

Selecting the right aftermarket wheels for a high-end sports car requires a careful balance of aesthetics and structural integrity. The Riviera RF5 is a part of our Flow Formed range, making it stronger & lighter than the cast alternative. Critical for managing the immense torque sent to the rear wheels of the AMG GT S.

Finished in a premium, ultra-deep Gloss Black, the split-spoke design of the RF5 perfectly complements the dark, sinister aesthetics of the car, especially if you feature black trim, carbon fibre splitters, or a custom matte wrap like this one. Furthermore, the slim spoke layout yields an excellent view of the high-performance braking system and those iconic red AMG brake callipers.

When dealing with a rear-wheel-drive powerhouse like the AMG GT S, keeping to a staggered wheel setup is non-negotiable for preserving handling dynamics. For this specific build, we chose to keep to the OEM fitment of staggered width and diameter to max out the car’s visual impact without compromising ride quality. Our offsets are a little more aggressive than OEM giving the vehicle a flush fitment and an aggressive stance whilst maintaining the car’s original forward-leaning rake.

The magic lies in the engineering. At 19×8.5 ET45 on the front, the wheel sits beautifully flush with the front arches, allowing clear clearance during hard cornering. On the rear, the 20×10.5 ET42 configuration pushes the wheel out just enough to achieve a truly aggressive stance.

Most importantly, the wider rear wheel allows for an incredibly deep concave profile. This deep concave design pulls the spokes inward toward the center hub, giving the AMG GT S an imposing, wide-body look from the rear profile, all while keeping the geometry remarkably close to OEM Mercedes specifications.
